John 1:1-18
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15(John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
Redemption

The Word who has always been
“in the beginning was the Word.” (John 1:1)
The Word who created all things
“all things were made through him” (John 1:3)
The Word who brings life
“in him was life” (John 1:4)
The Word who shines in the darkness
“the light shines in the darkness” (John 1:5)
John 1:9
9The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
John 1:10
10He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
John 1:11
11He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.
John 1:12
12But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
John 1:13
13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:14

He had to be born under the law.
Galatians 4:4-5
4But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
He had to shed his blood for our sins.
Hebrews 9:22
22Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 10:5
5Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me;
John 1:14
14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
If the Word did not become flesh, there is no cross.
If there is no cross, there is no shedding of blood.
If there is no shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.
If there is no forgiveness of sins, there is no hope of eternal life.
Christmas is not God stepping into the world to experience humanity, Christmas is God stepping into the world to save humanity.
John 1:14

Revelation 21:3-4
3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
God came near.
Isaiah 7:14
14Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matthew 1:23
23“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
John 1:14

Matthew 17:2

2 Peter 1:16-18

The Word became flesh.
The Word became flesh to reveal and redeem.
Revelation 19:11-13, 15
11Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
15From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
The Word became flesh to reveal and redeem.

A typical service will last about 75 minutes with a mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by our worship team. Our pastors share a Biblically-based message relevant to real life.
Students & Kids
Our Student Ministry (grades 5–12) and Kids Ministry (infants – grade 4) each offer identical, age-appropriate Bible teaching during both Sunday morning services.
Family Worship Days
The last Sunday of each month we come together for Family Worship Services (kids + students + adults worshiping together). Kids ministry is available for infants – pre-K only.
